Faq

Is fish cleaning available for our catch when we get back to the dock?

Don't have access to clean your fish or just don't want to clean your catch, fish cleaning is available upon request at an additional charge but not included in the trip price.

What happens if it is raining or windy on the day of our fishing charter?

It is up to the sole discretion of Capt. Best whether it is safe or not to proceed with your charter aboard the Tombstone.  If Capt. Best decides we are unable to proceed on your reserved day, we will either reschedule your trip for another time, or your charter will be refunded.

What happens if we are running late on the day of our fishing charter?

If you are running late on the day of your fishing charter, don't panic!  First thing is to call or text Capt. Best and let him know.  You may still go on your charter.  Tombstone often has multiple charters booked in one day, so while we may be late leaving the dock on the Morehead City waterfront, we will still need to return at the allocated time.

What is the cancellation policy for Tombstone charters?

You may cancel your fishing charter with 7 days' notice with no penalty.  Your full deposit will be refunded.

What type of foods/snacks/drinks do you recommend for our fishing charter?

Most people like to bring simple foods and snacks to munch on while fishing. Crackers, premade sandwiches or subs, individual packs of chips. Make sure to bring plenty of water to keep yourself and your party hydrated.

I have a child under the age of 13. What type of life jacket should I bring

There are different types of life jackets for different ages of children. Federal law requires that when a vessel is underway, children under 13 years of age must wear their lifejacket.

-the appropriate size for the intended user,

-appropriate for the intended activity,

-Coast Guard approved to meet carriage requirements.

What if I get seasick?

If you know that you are prone to motion sickness, we highly recommend that you use an over-the-counter motion sickness remedy such as Dramamine or Bonine and follow the instructions prior to your charter.

However, if you should happen to be affected with motion sickness while aboard the charter, it will always be your option (and of your party) whether you want to continue on with the rest of your fishing charter.
